In the video it looks like the Officers are looking for something, perhaps that something was the bike rider. Sure hope so anyway

"It looks as though the officers are looking specifically for a certain biker maybe who has committed a prior crime that we are not made aware of by this short video..." to quote another. i agree, why are some people so quick to say police are ones that would just randomly knock someone of f a bike. Do people not realize that type of police officer is screened out in the hiring process and filtered out during the academy. I would like to think a trained officer is not doing that sort of thing just for fun. People should ask what did that "guy" do rather than focus on the officer's actions

Theres always more to the story. The officer has been suspended. I hope there is an underlying reason for this, cause if not.....................

i agree , the cyclist must have done something wrong prior to meeting up with the officer, he must have been radioed to look for this certain cyclist who probably committed an offence & though he would get away with it , just an observation or a guess? i hope that is why he was put down, if not , then the officer was wrong for doing that !!

Damn. I agree with 3/4 of the previous posts. Something must have happened prior. (whether or not it warranted a full body bike launch is different....) can some1 find a follow up or statement from the officer?

Naw that was uncalled for he targeted some random person doing the same as everyone else on those bikes. The biker did nothing wrong. That to me was Police brutality he should get charges. People saw this happen and it was caught on video too. Thats all the evidence they need!

NIce Hit! There is definitely more to this story. Why would the officer hit that particular bicyclist?

It looks as though the officers are looking specifically for a certain biker maybe who has committed a prior crime that we are not made aware of by this short video. As for the take down....I asume he was arrested for whatever he did proir that he was fleeing from. Any person with any intelligence can see the numerous bikers pass the officers without incident and the officers stopping this specific bicyclist.

I don't buy it, if the guy did something prior to what we see then don't you think that the rookies partner would have been a little more quick on his feet? notice that he just casually strolls over after the rookie shoulder checked the guy on the bike? Somethin' aint right in the Big Apple

I think there is more to the video. At first it looks like the Officers are trying to get out of the middle of the street and cross over to the sidewalk. I wonder if the bike would have went to the right if the same thing would have taken place? Who knows.......

There has got to be more to this than we are seeing. It does indeed look like the officers were looking for a particular individual. I truly hope that is the case and if so, the officer is exhonerated.

There has got to be more to this .... Even a rookie would have more sense then to just clock someone in a crowded public street without some sort of provocation.
