Foxvog,Yes the Charges were Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, He was charged with the original Fleeing and resisting. The Officer was " Retrained" on Department policies and has since made Seargent. ( The Cop is a Friends Husband), Thats how I know the Details.

Thank God that officer is OK. I'm sure he had good reason to position himself where he did. No matter where he stood, the subject did attmept to run him down. It appeared that when the officer was backing up, the suspect was aiming the car prior to turning. Hopefully he was punished in some way. Stay safe everyone.

The Supreme Court reversed the suspects Charge and the Officer was written up. The Supreme Court stated" The officers use of force was justified, however the officer put himself in the area of danger, therefore violating the actual force continum, which makes the use of force null and void" Another reason to use a little common sense.

I don't have the whole story of why the officer decided to do what he did, I don't know if I would have reacted the same nether, BUT, I never criticize an officer for doing what he felt he had to dot at that time in moment. I feel we owe our brother and sisters that.

Not sure I would have stepped in front of the car when it started leaving, but glad the officer is alright.
