It's everywhere!! All cultures, all social classes. It doesn't matter if you come from a low or high population area, black or white neighborhood, there is a some type of gang affiliation somewhere. Like Fairburnsnake said, there are no wanna be gangsters, you are or you aren't!! Makes me sick to see tanks in Iraq with gang signs painted on the side. If you have never had gang training, get some!! It will open your eyes and could save your neck on a call one day!! Don't forget that gangs don't come in just black or white!!

Put that effort into getting a job

Damn, not only do you have to learn their secret handshakes now you have to learn some funky dance! Bunch of criminal bastards that need to be exterminated. That's it, no jail, just exterminate any of these gang members as soon as you ID them. They are not, and never will be useful citizens and will always be a danger to society.

Could you imagine if these gangster rappers used their money and public images to encourage kids to stay in school? If they each sponsored a school or a mentoring program?

As officers we have to always remember that, due to our nation's popular culture, the antisocial behaviour and violence of these gangs has been accepted by a whole generational subculture as being normal and laudable. It's a huge officer safety issue.
