For 7 years after the CS training, each time my allergies would kick in, I would smell CS every time I blew my nose. I didn't think that crud would stay in me that long!

I agree with Hoop as well, same as most people we had to do scenario training after being sprayed. Weapon retention, punches, knee strikes, and handcuffing.
I agree with Talon...that CS in the military is baaad stuff. I won't ever forget how it made me feel(not to mention the pine tree so many of us hit coming out of the door to the chamber..lol)
Yeah I feel the same as hoop, we had to fight through an obstacle course after we got sprayed... it teaches you to fight through the pain, and that violators can fight through it as well.
This has never made sense to me. The trainers want you to be gassed, tazed, baton whipped, etc.etc, so we know how it feels to the perps, so we don't abuse them. First of all, if I had to get tazed back in the day, someone was going to have some big paybacks, who...who else: The perps. 2nd why has no been "Shot" yet by a rangemaster, so we know how it feels. I agree with hoop0113. Put them in a "Real" situation. Let them start fighting with someone, spray them and then have the wind blow it back in your face. Now you and the perp can't see. Real incident that happened to me. Never trained for that.

We had OC spray instead of pepper spray. None of us could stand still after the OC.

You can stand there and take anything. I want to see them fight through a senario with attackers and identify weapons after they are sprayed.

What burns the eyes and throw and doesn't make you fall is doing a great job. Try freeze +P (oc + pepper syray) , Great job guys!

I very much hated that part of the academy, but it wasn't as bad as the CS gas training in Army Basic Training! LOL
