I can't see the video but I will add this, In talking with European Officers, yes, there are by far fewer armed citizens in those countries...However, criminals are criminals are criminals the world 'round and criminals do not care about gun laws...the criminals have the guns already...therefore a Police Officer, no matter where on earth, in this day and age needs at a MINIMUM...a SIDEARM and at MODERATE the addition of police grade MACE & TASER and at BETTER, all of the afore mentioned along with a SHOTGUN and/or PATROL RIFLE.

This is the 21st Century with worldwide terrorism...WORLDWIDE. The whole "it will never happen here" attitude and unrealistic thinking needs to be eliminated around the whole globe....terrorists are here to stay. It's the military's job to hunt them down and help slow their increase and it's our job to defend our home towns from these and other criminals.

Terrorism will never be eliminated as long as humans live and breathe so people need to get over the whole "Leave it to Beaver", life is grand, 50's way of thinking and wake up to the reality of the here and now.

Arm the defenders (Police Officers world-wide), the agressors (criminals) already are.

Weapons are needed for European Police. We hear about terror attacks monthly in Europe. These UK units need weapons. One of these days one will be in the right place at the right time to deal and neutralize a terror suspect...only if he/she was armed. I pray that these units get firearms...then work on the TAZER. Nothing puts fear in the criminal than possible death if they attack the police. Police injuries would definently go down and order can be restored without firing a single shot. Weapons are used to keep the peace. I feel for you guys out there. Safe tour...you guys are better men than me.

In a country with active acts of terrorism and criminals with explosive devices, how can they justify the limited number of armed officers in the country? Where was the public outrage over the two officers that got beaten? More importantly, why were the bystanders not helping? For the officers sake, I hope they at least get Tasers if not more armed units.

these cops need to be armed, how can you provide safety with out it? i pray you get the Taser gun at least.you guys are seriously more at risk in the line of duty.sad.

The Taser is an awesome tool and would be very effective for your department. Hopefully you will not remain unarmed. Spray is not effective, not like a Taser.
