I believe the officer had the right to shot the suspect. If the suspect wasn't so wrong in shotting incident bystanders; then the shotting wouldn't have happened, but it did happen.

Good training video on why all officers should carry and be able to deploy a rifle. To those who are in command positions watch and worry. If the court house officers or patrol officers were not ready there would be more deaths. Prepare for the worst hope for the best.
