Police Shooting: Real or Training?
At first glance it seems like the subject is complying by putting down the rifle. The officer coming around the building sees an additional threat which is the firearm the subject is retrieving from his right back area.

I have been shown this video clip by a firearms instructor. If you slow it down, you will see the crook reach to his rear. Once again, another situation where being proactive saved the day.

It's gotta be training - either that or these officers need to go back for training - because once the subject is shot - he just calmly walks up to him - holstering his weapon - I don't care how many times a person is shot the first thing you are going to do is secure the weapon away from him - then check to see if the guy is dead or needs rescue - training is incomplete unless you do that - because how you do training is how you do it on the street - please train to secure the subject's weapon weather he is shot or not

The officer was too calm for it to be real.

lefimillet....Why would they be in jail for shooting a suspect who was drawing a firearm? I don't know where you live, but I've never heard of any state requiring officers to wait until they are shot at before using deadly force.

Perfect example of how video shot a certain angles can miss some pretty important evidence. It doesn't take too much imagination to wonder what the ACLU would say if the video showed this but the suspect fell on the gun and it was never shown on camera.

Well lefimillet you can obviously see another gun in the suspects right hand. Although he had not pointed it at the Officer, I'm sure the Officer would have no trouble proving that the suspects intent was to do just that. Murder? Not Likely.
If this is a training vid, the guy playing the suspect is a heck of an actor. Especially the way his head snaps back upon the first shot. I vote real.

Its gotta be training. If not then I would call that a major officer safety issue.

From what I have seen, the officer in front of the suspect is way to cool after the shooting. Your heart rate is going a hundred miles per hour in such situation. Yes, he's to close as well because at that range if the suspect had to decided to let off a couple of rounds it would of pierced his body armor and his chest. As you can see the video doesn't show everything because of the angle. The officer approaching from the corner had saw the suspect reaching for another weapon from his back right pocket and took action. Another question who is videoing this ? Must be training. No blood spatter either, look?

The primary officer was crazy for walking up. If you can get cover use it. He has not been shot at or hit evidently. The officer from behind did a great job of saving the first officers butt. That would have been a lesson he did not want to learn.

the first officer is way too cool after the shooting for it to have been real; however it makes a great point to focus on both hands.
