Sent back to patrol? I got my tats while I was in patrol...... None of my ink is visible in uniform but I work with several guys / gals that do. If it's not offensive, who cares. Old folks wear socks with sandals, have blue hair and fart in public. It's okay BECAUSE THEY ARE OLD......same goes for their wrinkly tats.
I'm sure someone told Samuel O'Reilly in 1891 that his invention of the electric tattoo machine was a fad also. I can only hope that Sam pointed out to the naysayer that the tattoo fad may have been started by "Ötzi the Iceman" in 3300 BC. In reality, Ötzi probably wasn’t the first dude to get inked, just the first one we know of.
