Town of Orange VA is the worst you are going to find. The pay is low and the chief likes to fire a new office every 6 months. If you are not best friend with him or his Sgt Him and Her will fire you. In the past 4 year they have hired and fired 10 Officers and the dept is only 8 officer strong. Stay clear and save your LE job path.

yeah, my agency covers 150k people, don't lay anyone off, and starting pay is 48k a year.

Des Moines made the list? I'm impressed!!! Their starting pay listed in the paper was about $43,000 last year.

I think they should compile a list after talking to Police Officers. I bet you would get a little different results than what the experts say.
