20. Fake Cop Pulls Over La. Mayor

The AP via YellowBrix

SHREVEPORT, La. — Police say a man impersonating an officer with a flashing red light in his car has been arrested after he pulled over the wrong driver — the mayor of Shreveport, La. Police think the suspect was using the in-dash light to maneuver through traffic Monday night in northwest Louisiana. Mayor Cedric Glover says he pulled over when the drove behind him, but the fake officer then sped away.

Crooks Are Stupid

Glover says he followed the car and called police. Daniel Niederhelman, 21, of Shreveport has been charged with false personation of a peace officer.

Police seized the light and a handgun from Niederhelman’s holster. Authorities say Niederhelman works for a private security company, but wasn’t authorized to use the light.

Booking records did not list an attorney for Niederhelman.

#19. Good old water boarding, they at least learned something from that fake president we had to put up with for the past eight years. Call waterboarding what it is not some lame name like "simulated drowning." To be WB'ed is no fun, even when you know all you have to do give a signal and it is stopped. What we had to go through for our country back in the 70's.

If they where just taking the drugs off the streets, I would have no problem with it. Any other reason, well, that is a different story.

I told my daughter and daughter-in-laws, that if a car comes up behind them, then tries to stop them and is not decked out like a standard police car, or they are suspicous of the driver to either call 911 on thier cell phones and ask for assistence from a marked car or to head for the nearest police station/barracks or what ever they are called in the areas where my kids are stationed. The same advice that he gave us kids when we got out on our own. You never know!

Their grandpa, may he rest in peace, was a real good C.o.P. from back in 1952 until he was forced to quit in 1973 because a local sheriff pressured the local police commissioner to fire him and replace the city LEO's with a resisdent deputy.

As for you real LEO's out there, I have great respect for you and the job you do, I understand the daily danger that you face. In 1959 we almost lost our father to an escaped murderer from out of state when dad tried to stop him for going the wrong way on a oneway street after the perp ran when he was told he could not double park in front of the bank. The lack of communication between states and departments did not exist at the time. Keep up the good work, and stay safe.

I am with joliveria, I feel this site should be allowed to people who are LEOs or CSOs, and also to have this verified from the agency to insure there isnt an impersonator.

Silent_Observer: Thank you so very much for pointing out the Mall Ninja Legend. I freakin wet myself all over my Government Issued desk chair. Holy Crap! Theres also a Mall Ninja Aptitude test at http://www.okcupid.com/tests/take?testid=6753325773046944943. I, very literally, almost passed out laughing.
I used to be a Director of Mall Security for a Mall in Mission Viejo, so I have a distinct appreciation for this wingnut.

My favorite is the Chicago teen with spunk....(laugh)....he got himself a Lexus and lunch with his "co-workers" at Micky D's.....Apparently he has not learned his lesson(s)....and although appearances would suggest he is going up in the world...he was actually going down. I know that this is not a joke. Particularly some of the other cases involving guns. On a more serious note: Reminds me of a time that there was a kidnapper/rapist on the loose in New England....impersonating a cop was how he got attractive ladies travelling alone to the side of the road. My sister was almost one of his victims.....that was until the rest of us woke up from taking a nap (which we usually did while traveling from our home in MA to our ski chalet in NH)....and the "police officer"....complete with red flashing light, gun and badge....quickly exited the area. It's not that peace officers don't have enough to do already.....My hat is off to them for all that they do, day in and day out with little or no thanks from the public.
