8. Sandboarding in Florence
Who needs snow — or pavement — when you’ve got sand? If you’re a snowboard enthusiast who just can’t wait till winter, consider heading to Sandmaster Park in Florence, Oregon. It’s the world’s first sandboarding park and home to the annual Sandmaster Jam competition in July.
Get your fix riding over 40 acres of soft sand dunes, rails, ramps and bowls. They’ve got beginner to advanced slopes, and the beautiful Oregon rain forest as a backdrop. For more information, check out their website or call 541-997-6006.

Maybe, latter. Police work is about commitment to your citens, and your fellow officers. The job never comes with dowl moment but, alot hard cases. It's not activies witch you can do anytime, it's about being a good cop, the repect of an indivigle, and getting the bad gyes. Mainly being above and beond the call of duty, sleepless nights on case, and pertecting and seriving you city, and state. Giving back only the good with in you. Thats what I know police work is about, because my dad was a cop and that is what he did.

Your mental balance won't last long if you don't keep yourself grounded. There is no better way to do that than to have interest beyond law enforcement. It gets better when you can, and do share these interest with a girlfriend, wife, son, daughter who are not in the business. In fact, it is a great way to show your family that your are more than a badge.
While I am not saying that you can't share these adventures with a cop buddy, it is best when you can forget the job, and just enjoy yourself. Remember ladies and gents, you are not cops, you are far more interesting than that. You are a person, complete and complicated, who happens to be in law enforcement as a vocation. Now, get out there and enjoy yourselves!

Go anywhere in North Idaho, there is nothing but outdoors things to do. Officers for the most part, I think, just really enjoy the outdoors and being active otherwise they wouldn't be officers. Just my insight

Hike the Canyon (Grand) and go a little further than the hamlet of Havasupai to the Supai falls! Turquoise colored water and cliffs! Always be aware of the weather in the area because many have lost their lives due to flash floods that can frequent this area, especially during the "Monsoons". All over AZ there are enormous Cliff dwellings that USED to be on the topo maps. Find someone that has lived here for many years (that has copies of these old maps) and you might be treated to a picture taking time of your life. Don't tell everybody!

I spent a week camping in Yosemite National Park a few years ago. I didn't want to go home. Everything there is huge. The sky is so clear it seems like you can see forever. Like in Texas, when looking up at night you are amazed at how many stars there are up there. Caught my first rainbow trout in the Mercer river and even trying panning for gold, ( no luck ). Great time.

Big Bend is my favorite, many night up till about 2 or 3 in the morning just looking at the stars there is so many that even without the moon you do not need a flashlight, it is so bright with the moon some of our group said it was to bright to go to sleep. And to top it off the west Texas territory is the best place in the US, the King Ranch offers week long stays and the chance to work on a ranch (after all it is the largest ranch in the US) Enchanted Rock State Park offers great hiking and rock climbing and repelling. Texas is truly the best place in the world!! (OK mabey I am just a little prjudice)
