Let's see, some want to legalize drugs. So let's legalize pimp'n. Is this the next "cry for rights?" It is the oldest profession still going. If there is one law to be changed, this is it. Street drug ho's would be out of business. No drug money for these ladies of the night. OR WOULD this actually work? Knoxville, TN PD conducted a raid of pimp'n ho's a few days ago. They were selling for drug money.....and giving STD for free... Seriously, should it be. I am defering my decision to the second half. I promise I will say what it is.

It is legal in some states, guess it is working out better now that it is regulated.

Whether it is legalizing drugs or prostitution, the deception is that no law stops crime. Should we stop arresting thieves because the laws against it have not stopped it? Whether or not drugs should be legal should based on the morality of using drugs not the ability to enforce the laws. It's wrong to steal and it's wrong to use illegal drugs.

There's the argument that drug use will happen anyway so let's make it safer for them. Well thieves and prostitutes get hurt too, do we want to make stealing safer for the thief and prostitution safer for the prostitute?

Marijuana is not a harmless drug. Even illegal marijuana is one of the major leading causes of all traffic accidents. Can you imagine if it were made legal? What would that do to the number of traffic accidents? What will be the outcome be of making drugs legal? Will the number of drug users go up or down? When the price drops will more or less people buy it? With an addictive product, would you expect the producers to go out of business or make a lot of money? Since drugs generally reduce inhibitions will risky and often criminal behavior increase or decrease?

It certainly is a problem that is not going to go away but throwing up our hands and surrendering in not an option for me personally. If my children were on drugs you can be sure I would want to make it as difficult as possible for them to continue their ways. I don't see making drugs legal as the answer.

I'm always interested in this debate because I want to understand where those, who are for legalizing drugs, are coming from. I want to understand (though we will never agree) why they think legalizing would be an option. Sorry for the long post.

Though this thread was intended to be about prostitution, I believe the same arguments could be made against legalizing prostitution. It's wrong. It will not make life better. It will only get worse for all those involved.

Dont be sorry. That says it all. You have 100% correctly id'd my opinions. If is built by man, man cab destroy it. No regulations is 100%. PRIME EX: Oxycontin is a state and fed REUGULATED schedule II Controlled substance. Regulated by laws to be prescribed by docs and dispensed by pharmacies. Some one forget to mention this to America and dealers. OC's are the no 1 abused REGULATED drug in America. It ranks in the top 3 of all drugs. It is at epidemic levels. No pimp'n should not be legal and Nevada still has ho stings. I know because it was on "Cops." So now.

I wonder how they can have legal prostitution in NV when anti-adultery laws are still on the book ;)

Why would anyone want to pay for "the milk" when there are so many willing to give it away? I just don't get it. But, those days are over. 49 days and I am taking the plunge. No more strange for Jacky.

Here an unsolicited related story. A few years back I was working deep UC in an urban setting. A crack ho about 26 that looked about 65 approached me one night. She asked if I needed, well, lets say oral. Since we "dopers" was hanging out waiting on "the man." We decided to have fun with her. We asked how much. She say 25. Too much, 20, too much, 15, too much, 10, too much and finally she was so in need of a fix, she said any bill. We said we didnt have a bill. Finally, she asked how much coins did we have. We ran her off. Drugs and Ho's go together in general in more urban areas than rural.

THANKS MILLIONS BRO'S. Sorry to jump the post, back on hookers. Has anyone heard prostitution referred to as the victimless crime? I wonder if the coin girl would agree with that.

I heard the high priced "escorts" let you run your debit card down their buttcrack to pay. Is that true? Talk about the magic card.

Sorry guys, but I guess I disagree with the prevailing point of view. Why is it any concern of law enforcement, or any other government institution, what happens on private property, behind closed doors between responsible and consenting adults?

If a girl is walking the “public” street and being a distraction, regardless if she’s on drugs or not, she is a public nuisance and should be dealt with accordingly. Same goes for real problems like underage or forced prostitution. Let’s focus our efforts on protecting and serving the general public, not enforcing moral codes.

Congratulations, Jack!

And by the way, I was older than you when I married for my first, only, and last time-- it turned out to be more fun than I thought it was going to be!
