There is a weekend/vacation residence with an alarm. The residence sits approximately 1 mile off of the highway in a heavily wooded area. There is a locked gate across the driveway(at the highway) and no way around the gate with a vehicle. The residence is obviously not visible from the roadway

At 2 am the alarm company calls and says the alarm is going off. You respond and find the gate locked and no tracks around the driveway. What do you do and what is your agency policey(if any). Also you are the only officer on in the county.

I would pull the make-shift ramp we keep in the trunk of our cruisers, place it in front of the gate then while jumping the gate i would hit the siren( mine plays dixie), slide up to the front door get my bow and arrow out of the back seat and clear the house by letting my pet iguana slip through a window that i opened with my two by four. but that is the policy where im from, im sure it is different from state to state.

We keep gate access codes for subdivisions and some residences in our communications center, but yeah if its padlocked or key-locked, I don't know what else you could do.
