It was brought to our attention that a certain police department has issued to their officers that they [PD] will not respond to any duress, panic, or holdup alarm that comes back to a "residential address" regardless if it has a business name [home business]. Some of us in the alarm response unit of our security company have had training ranging from military to police; however, we have a large percentage that have never done security work and/or alarm response.

How can you train someone to be alert and ready to act in a possible lethal manner knowing that you will NOT have any backup arriving and the PD will not respond?

Any suggestions would be great! I am currently awaiting for the AG to respond to my email pertaining to this matter (over 3 weeks) and it seems no one has looked at the big picture - untrained "private security".
