| Posted about 1 year ago I wear basket weave leather, and everyone will have their opinions. I use good old shoe polish, Qtips, rags, etc. and I really get in the cracks and crevices when I have to polish it up good. Let it dry for a long time, then buff it with a soft cloth. If you have a DREMEL tool, you could use a soft brush attachment to go over it after you buff the shoe polish off. Don't use any liquid polish, your instructors will notice the difference and you will probably get screamed at. It dries out the leather and shows cracks. Use windex on the buckle and snaps. | Posted about 1 year ago Take a tin of regular shoe polish heat it up with a lighter until it turns to liquid. The use a applicator swab or Qtip to get into the crevasses. Then buff like hell! |

| Posted about 1 year ago Quartermaster supply company also offers a liquid shine which works well too. Use it on my basket weave gear for years. Also used it on the sides of my rubber soled shoes to make them look good too. Guess I was real anal about my uniform. Being a Tyrant does not make one a Leader! |

| Posted about 1 year ago There is nothing wrong with being anal about the uniform. Being a big guy, I find it especially important that my uniform is great condition. I never want to look sloppy on the job, ever. I admire anyone that takes the time to keep their uniform in good shape. Even though I wear BDUs now, I still iron them. Some guys don't. | Posted about 1 year ago Use to have my BDU's dry cleaned with heavy press and extra starch. Made for outstanding creases and a very professional look. I was also super anal about the shine on my boots and my gig line. |

| Posted about 1 year ago I tried the leather luster. It comes in a botter with the sponge on the end. It works great but I heard atfer some time, it wears off the basket weave. |

| Posted about 1 year ago Kiwi Shoe polish... burn it off...While still warm to hot apply evenly to the surface with a damp cloth allow to dry About 1-2 days if you can If not wait at least 4-6 hours. Ready to spit shin. To spit shin. Again burn off your polish. In the top to the polish place an Ice cube. Over the ice cube pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol (water if no alcohol available. Dab your (clean) cloth into the alcohol and lightly into the polish. Using small circular motions begin polishing. Takes a bit of time but when yoou are done it should look like black glass. Should last a week or so easily. Just buff it with a slightly damp cloth if it becomes smeared. WALA. |

| Posted about 1 year ago I use the Kiwi polish, and water, HOT water, get a clean cloth and put it over your finger dip once in water then in polish and get a heavy bit onto it, do the circular motions until you can feel that the polish isnt on the cloth any more, then once again into the water...then the polish, just repeat that until you have it shining like glass takes a LONG time though |

| Posted about 1 year ago 1st and foremost verify your not using safair laminate or other leather like material that is not. No matter how much polish goes on is never shines up. I use Lincoln wax, I was told Danner won't warranty their boots because KIWI can cause cracks in leather. I got lazy and found cracks in an old pair been using Lincoln Wax ever since.
