The Reyka family should be proud of Deputy Reyka. As should we all. An Officer being killed in the lne of duty is a tragedy. However it happens quite often.I will keep Deputy Reyka and his family in my prayers. May god be with you all.

We have had many members of our family murdered or lost through accidents this year in the performance of their duties. Sgt. Reyka was one of the very great police officers who did so much for his community. He will be sorely missed by his immediate family and friends and all of us in the 'Thin Blue Line" family. I pray that we are able to locate and destroy his murderers the way you put down any vicious animal.

Here's a link to the paper about a make shift memorial for Deputy Reyka, and how everyone in the community has been touched by his death.

Rest easy my brother, their time will come, and I hope it's at the hands of our brothers, as swiftly as you were taken away from us, without a chance to fire back!
