I am in the process of starting a Canine Officer Memorial Page. If you know any canines or handlers that have been killed in the line of duty please visit this site so they can be remembered. www.K9omp.com

I tried the links, but they don't open for me. Maybe its my computer, but I can see the whole page, just can't navigate once on it. I want to submit Richard Goldstein who was killed saving his K-9 partner in May.

Good idea. K-9 officers deserve the same as human officer when killed in the line of duty. They died doing the same job.

I have sculpted a number of dog portraits which you may be interested in having as a memorial to a canine killed in the line of duty. Please visit my website to view the sculptures and details. If you have any questions please contact me.

Welcome, SculpturePortraits! :-)

I've seen your dog sculptures, they are beautiful! (In fact, I have the greyhound miniature-- that's my baby!)

This is a great idea and a great tribute to our four legged partners. These animals give everything including their lives for us and they desearve the same respect. Again thank you for taking the time to start this.

I totally agree with this idea. SGT1202 hit the nail on the head. these dogs go to work every day with their officers prepared to defend them with their life if they have to. and some pay the ultimate price for that loyalty. so it's an honor to remember them as well. after all, they were the badge too.

great idea!!

Great idea, they too are officers. When my dog was in obedience school there was a k-9 puppy (charlie) who was in training. He was just there for the day because his handler was out of town. Because my puppy was the same size as Charlie they were allowed to play together. They were so much bigger than then the other puppies. :) I often think of him as well, wonder if he is retired now.
