Posted almost 6 years ago An off-duty police officer, familiar with radar speed checking equipment, drove through a school zone within the legal speed limit when suddenly the flash of a camera went off, taking a picture of his car and license plate. The officer, thinking the radar was in error, drove by again; even more slowly. Another flash. He did it again for a third time, at an even slower speed. Same result. So, he made a note to himself to contact the traffic department and tell them that their machine wasn't working properly. A few weeks later, the off-duty police officer received an envelope from the police department containing three traffic citations, each of them were for NOT wearing a seat belt. |

| Posted almost 6 years ago That would sux...if it indeed happened. But, depending on the volume of traffic every vehicle could be photographed and reviewed. |

| Posted almost 6 years ago Ok so there's no way the equipment could "tell" he was not wearing his seatbelt to take a picture so it either takes them for everyone or wasn't working properly. If it wasn't working properly I would think the ticket would be no good in the first place if Joe Citizen wanted to fight it. Along the same lines of having drugs/contraband supressed due to a bad search. Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty's teeth. -George Washington |
