Bloomberg's final legacy:

The New York City Police Department is taking aim at owners of shotguns and rifles capable of holding more than five rounds, demanding such guns be surrendered, altered or taken out of the city.

The demand came in the form of hundreds letters mailed out to owners of registered long guns that are in violation of a 2010 city ordinance. The first option for the letter's recipient is to, "Immediately surrender your Rifle and/or Shotgun to your local police precinct, and notify this office of the invoice number. The firearm may be sold or permanently removed from the City of New York thereafter."

State Police had a sit down with Cuomo’s soldiers to try to figure out how to administer a completely unworkable set of regulations.

The State Law is so stupid that they are still trying to figure out how it is even possible to enforce at all.

Off course I agree:

My question is. . . . .What automatons in their Police Department are they going to use to go after peaceful, law abiding citizens?

I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I expect the same from them.

Trust me on this:

It’s NOT a good feeling when you see confused, intimidated, and sometimes plain scared law-abiding gun owners showing up at the precinct with the above letter… Asking the SHSO if they are going to be arrested…

That’s how far the far left has pushed this issue in the North East.

Goes to show that the NRA may just be the only thing standing between these Politicians and the law-abiding American.

Even the NYPD weapons are restricted to the Democratic Gun Control:

Every Service Pistol in NYC has what is known as "The NY Trigger". That means full DA, or Double Action for every round. (No trigger re-set here...)

The NYPD mags are only 10 rounds. That means, more re-loads and only 31 rounds maximum, counting the 2 belt mags. (If you are in a situation where you need more...Well, too bad)

There was a lengthy debate before they even allowed hollow points for duty.

Soon these Northeast Democrats are going to try to pass a bill to prevent the NYPD from carrying on duty, except on "special situations" just like the London Police. Some of them are already talking about how well the Police in London perform their duties without weapons.

Just goes to prove that elections COUNT!  You elect mental midgets. . . . .you get screwed up laws.  The sad thing is, from what I've read along the way. . . .43, 45 or 47% (somewhere in there. . . .not for sure) of the U.S. population lives north of the Mason Dixon line.  Does not bode well for the future of our country when that forty something number keeps putting in people that have no clue what history is about and the reasons for things like . . . the 2nd Amendment or to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity (i.e. can't have a soda pop over 16 ounces. . . how utterly stupid!).

Oh they will, that's the whole idea of what is really behind registration (besides the money fees) is to keep track of all of the data, they will spend a huge sum of money already in short supply in that city- and no doubt run into lawsuits they will have to defend  (justifies the overpaid lawyers' salaries) it's a lot like the "safety" coverup with the red light and speeding cameras that are making millions of dollars- it's not about safety since the camera catches the car AFTER it goes thru the light and kills people, it's all about revenue the way registering guns is keeping a detailed database along with FEES.

Trouble is  criminals don't bother registering THEIR guns.

Trouble is. . . . .IF. . . .they can find any brain dead officers to go after the guns. . . .and IF. . . . . .they can find some of the guns, Darwinism will probably start figuring in at some point because the people are going to start fighting back and the brain dead officers are going to start turning up. . . .face down. . . .in the East River!  (if they get found at all)

Yep, the other other "trouble is..."

I grew up in that city in the 70s and 80s, it was a hellhole and a rat trap back then, it still is as far as I'm concerned.

Back then there was a very large well connected well armed drug cartel whose home base was in a tenement on the lower east side- East 12th st by avenue C to be exact, it was called "The Fortress" because the drug cartel took over the building and put welded steel over the door and windows and had heavily armed men behind them. They openly sold drugs and there would be a line of buyers down the sidewalk. The police and city knew about it but there was fear a bust would go down extremely badly given the stell plate doors and heavily armed thugs inside.

This cartel had control of the neighborhood, anyone even seen talking to an officer wound up dead in a vacant lot in Brooklyn usually, two officers were executed in broad daylight on that street just walking down the sidewalk, another was killed going to the subway on his way home.

The book "Rock Solid" by Detective Bose and Barchesi tells the whole story, with photos included.

Somehow they managed to shut it down, but this was just one building and one group, not a city full of people who may have guns, and their friends, family and supporters willing to back them up in anyway they can.

It's anyone's guess how a move would play out, it could become another Cliven what's-his-name with a bunch of armed "militia" members and others all showing up, but realistically I think what will happen will happen in court at least at first, I think we can count on that much happening to begin with the NRA, maybe the ACLU and others filing, we'll see!

Dunno about that one, Lulu.  But it is vexing to see New Yorkers relinquish their Castle Doctrine rights forever under a mysterious guarantee they will be quite naturally be safe and sound.

I do not like Politicians, regardless of their Party affiliation and / or representation.

I am a Republican, I've always been so, and would probably remain so for the time been, just because they represent the lesser of two evils.

Politicians, in both sides of the island have become puppets, directed, operated and manipulated by the highest money contributor.

The days where a Politician would fight for the interest of Americans are long gone.

Nowadays, it's all about winning. But to win they need an effective Campaign. And, to have an effective Campaign, the need money, and to have that money they need DEEP POCKETS.

ELECTIONS...???

If I had my way I would outlaw any form Election Campaign contribution or donation.

I would establish a Federal Fund for any Presidential Election, giving the SAME AMOUNT to both sides. Accordingly, a Fund for any State or Municipal Election thus, preventing any Special Interest person / organization from influencing the outcome of ANY election.

I would eliminate the "Delegates" System and establish the "Popular Vote", eliminating the unfair advantage some States have. So, whatever we get or WHOMEVER we get would be what the Majority of Americans want, and anyone who disagrees would have to go... Well, you know!

I would propose legislation to criminalize any form of Lobbying, on behalf of ANY Special Interest OR ANYONE.

None of these problems are New Yorkers' fault, or the fault of anyone in the Northeast. IT IS THE SYSTEM.

No, I do not like Politicians. Can't care less which Party they represent.

The days of Ronald Reagan are long gone...
