Hey guys. So im going to re-apply to LAPD. I applied a few years ago and unfortunately due to budget cuts i was dropped from the process. Finally got some motivation to do it again. So I need some help passing this background.

I dont have a criminal record.

I dont do drugs and rarely drink.

Good employement record.

Not associated with "criminals"

I just fixed my DL. It was suspended for FTA. I only have 3 tickets on my record.

My credit is being fixed (a lot of incorrect info on file) so my credit it technically "fair". My major debt (more than $200) is student loans (which are being paid for monthly)

I broke a rent lease because I moved 100+ miles away. My roommate did not pay the last month we were there and I guess based on technicality we were evictied (we had moved before we even got a summons) and of course the lease was under my name ONLY. That matter is barely going to be taken care of, after 1 year.

So based on everything ive said, can anyone give me a  realistic look at how my background would go? Do you think id be DQ?

What should I be worried about? Anyone help me please!!!!!

Soo I'm assuming that's a real bad thing (sus license and eviction). I was starting background. I was sent a letter on behalf of the mayor and police chieft saying that due to budget cuts the LAPD was no longer accepting applicants. Try again later type of thing..

So now I'm not sure if I should even try again.

If you're willing to give up so easily, this may not be the profession for you.

Not sure if I'd apply for the LAPD with all the negative press they've had in previous year. Why not apply with the CHP?

How's that HOPE and CHANGE working out for you?

What would you do for a Klondike bar?

Bump my friend IowaNinersFan.I would frankly suggest the L.A. County Sheriffs Dept. Not only the largest in the country, but probably the best trained and paid,as well.

I didn't mean give up on everything, I meant not trying LAPD again. I'm applying for a minimum of 5 agencies.

That's is now my first choice (it was LAPD) then CHP then wherever else I apply for.

If you land a Chippy academy slot, consider yourself very fortunate. They 'strain' through many apps and only extend an academy invite to the best.

Keep trying. You can only be said 'no' to about 57 times.

There are over 17,000 law enforcement agencies in America. Good luck.

Don't you have to start out doing jail service for a long time (3+ years) if you join the L.A. County Sheriffs Department?
