How often do you buy a new car?

God bless you and have a nice day.

I still mount up here in these parts. Nothing better than a trusty horse. No gas lines - just gotta watch when you step.

It is what it is.............and.........these things too shall pass.

I try to keep my car as long as I can.I've had my current car for 2 1/2 years now.Hopefully, I will be able to keep it running very well for at least 13 1/2 more years.

God bless you and have a nice day.

klamm 143. I like your idea. You don't have to go to the mechanic every 3000-10,000 miles to change your oil.

God bless you and have a nice day.

I'm still driving this thing I picked up at a police auction fifteen years ago.

Aim at the high mark and you will hit it. No, not the first time, not the second time and maybe not the third. But keep on aiming and keep on shooting for only practice will make you perfect. Finally you'll hit the bull's-eye of success.

I keep mine till it becomes more cost effective to buy another car rather than maintain the current one.  I had a 95 caravan 6 years until I had to put more money into fixing it than it's resale value.  I now have an 09 that I've had for 3 years (bought in '10) and will probably continue to drive it until the engine starts pouring out smoke (which may not be long because it's a Ford and has been falling apart at a rapid speed no matter how much care I put into it).

My 'low' milage car has a little over 190,000, my other one has a little over 205,000.  Both have been paid for for years, I'll drive them until they die or I do.

I've wondered that myself, but the people I hear talk about these things a lot also mention these things called "vacation homes".

If you take good care of your car and service it when it is due, it will last a long, long  time.  Buying a car evey 3-5 years is a waste of money.

I drive a 2001 Ford Exploder sport with over 179,000 miles. My mechanic says he wouldn't put any more money into it so I guess when this goes all I''l have is my Harley

Well, let's see...

My split window '63 Corvette doesn't get driven much. I would say I would sell it once maybe, in the future, 25 years away. Or just give it to the kids and they can turn around and by a couple of houses.

The'69 Charge R/T is another long in the tooth vehicle3. Yeah, that might end up in Barrett-Jackson. 15 years.

The Yugo I can't sell. It holds down the corner of my tent. (I ran out of pegs.)

The Ferrari 'California T' get a run down the coast on sunny days but mostly stay in the 'barn'.

The VW needs to go but it's a fun grocery car.

My GMC Sierra is a daily driver. That one I will sell in 5-6 years.

The wife's ES350 is a daily driver and I would get beat up if I sold it.

Did I answer your question, pancake? Oh, you meant frequency in buying, not selling. Sorry.....

I have an 09 with fewer than 60K mi. If a vehicle is well maintained it should last a long time. Besides who likes car payments anyway?

HijoDeDiosMRM says: I like the way that you mistyped the model of your car. I think that you accidentally typed Ford Exploder instead of Ford Explorer. I used to have a Ford Escort. Exploder would have been a good name for that car. That's exactly what happened to it.
