Depends on  the agency.  Some dictate exactly what and where everything is on the duty belt, some agenices (though much less than in the past) even had left handed people with their duty weapon on the right side for uniformity.  Typically you are told what you can and cannot have but are given some leeway in how it is arranged on the belt.

Bump my friend Cedardale,it does depend on the agency. An officer on my job was fired for having a basketweave web stitching placed on his belt.A severe penalty I would say.

Whoa-whoa-whoa. Fired because of a basketweave belt? Uh, that's rough. Maybe there's a back story behind the basketwearve.

To the original poster, ... what Cedardale said.

Bingo Sarge, you have it correct. They were looking for him.He shot and killed a 14 year old girl on a "Burglary in progress call",was charged with manslaughter, found not guilty and was reinstated.Following that,it was no secret the hierarchy was waiting for his first misstep.

You need to take a deep breath and relax. You are getting way ahead of yourself. Seriously, relax.
