My local hometown was rocked by tragedy:

I am just blown away by this, as most have said "never happen in my town" but here it did. All I want to know is why?

Just wondering what your personal connection to this case is since Sandown New Hampshire is not near Danvers Massachusetts, which was the scene of the crime.  In most homocide cases, the victim knows the perp. In this case the alledged perp was a student of the victim. Since this is an ongoing investigation and the facts have not yet been presented to a grand jury nor released to the public, we can assume, remember what assume denotes, that there was some sort of personal interaction between the two. Maybe something like a student receiving failing grades or feeling stress from an authorative figure or perhaps unrequeted admiration.  What is clear is that a beautiful young educator was killed and a young man faces a life sentence caused by an immature reaction to some perceived happenstance.

Mikesplace, I grew up in Danvers Massachusetts and lived not far from the high school, I also graduated in 1996 .

I recently read he was asked to stay after class for some assitance on an upcoming math test, is this the possible motive?

I am still very sad by what happened and will visit the school today to extend my condolence.

It is very hard when something like this happens and you have a connection to one or more involved or the location (community) it occurred. My area is still reeling from the Mass Shooting on Christmas Eve in Webster, NY. Like in your area you heard "it never happens here". Unfortunately people always think they are safe and yet if you think about it when you hear about an incident on the news it's always said that "I never thought it would happen here". Hopefully people will take from these incidents the realization that evil can happen anywhere.

As far as you're wanting to know why, there will never be an explanation as to why that will make sense. You may hear a reason coming from the LEOs and/or the defense but it will never truly explain why. It won't make sense. I've learned that for me to be able to accept the evil situation is for me to turn to God to give me Peace. It doesn't mean I understand but it helps me to continue on.
