I recently purchased Police officer exams for Dummies. :) It should be here any day. But, what other good ones should I consider reading? I've also been out of school for a while now, and I want to know, what are some other good books to refresh my math skills also. Thank you!!!!

Hope you didn't break the banks on these books. You can usually get them at Half Price Bookstore for a discount. The book I have is "Norman Hall's Police Exam." It's an older study guide but the contents seem to match what's on the POST exam. I have taken the POST a few times and scored in the 90's without going through the study guide....

How's that HOPE and CHANGE working out for you?

What would you do for a Klondike bar?

I actually bought my book used on Ebay for $10.00. :) I'll check out the one you suggested for me. I know that Amazon has some really good deals on used books too. Super excited!! Thanks!

You know, an exam prep book may not be the way to go. Sure, there are some things that are universal in a lot of tests but to ask the testing agency what is contained in the test is fair. "What is the test comprised or? Written essays, spelling, law, English usage, scenario based..." You wouldn't be asking for answers for the test but what is contained in the test.

I knew of guys who would travel all over the state and take tests because the state test was standardized. They had no intention of working for the agency sponsoring the test but it gave them a chance to 'try it out'. Many of them did so well that they were offered jobs but turned them down to work some other place. All they wanted to do was see the test.

It's not rocket science but it is a proprietary document that has strict protocols when taking the test.
