that Google has the 123rd anniversary of Yosimite National Park on their site and all national parks are closed due to a government shutdown?

Somewhere a true believer is training with one goal in mind...to kill you...will you be ready when you meet?

The comments in this statement in no way reflect to opinions or official standing of any agency, person, or entity other than the person who posted it. In other words mind your own business.

It is still the 123rd anniversary of the national park. In better news WW2 vets ARE visiting the WW2 Memorial in Washington DC today. These guys knocked down the barriers and are visiting a much deserved monument to them. Good on them. They are part of an Honor Flight from Iowa. Great job gentlemen! Can you imagine these men of our greatest generation crying about how they don't have this or that as many non-earners in America do today? I for one am thankful that there are still people in America who have grown a pair and are willing to do what's right.

You can't cure stupid.

Oh, I agree, Good on them!  Our Veterans know first hand how to not cave into to our home-grown Terrorists.

What also seems Ironic is that some here don't exhibit an iota of outrage when things like the Veterans jobs bills get's shut down aka filibustered?

Or when the Detective James Zagroda act that provided healthcare funds for DYING 9/11 first responders were 'Shut Down' (filibustered)?

What doesn't kill me had better start running!

Masses of enfrailed, poor elderly are terrified in their beds wondering what is next.  There is a point where filibuster becomes a simple act of cruelty.

Oh, I don't know. I feel like to have irony, you have to have understanding and a sense of quirky dark humor.

When you don't even understand what is in front of your face, then there is no irony. Well, maybe there is: If someone is breathing, there is irony in that they are a living human being. Is that irony or just weird?

As far as our World War II guys and gals: They are the Greatest Generation. They are great because they overcome by brute force of lasting longer than the rest.

And Yosemite? Ever seen or climbed Half Dome? You cannot legislate away the majesty, wonder and awe of Yosemite. Acts of a beleagured government cannot erase the silent power of our over 400 National Parks. And oh, the Department of the Interior is smart enough to have a contingency plan already in place to be active in spite of appropriation problems.

Ok, so I turn the TV station to check out the NASA Channel. Yeah, I do watch it sometimes. It is interesting.

And BAM! This is what is says on the screen:

"Due to the lapse in government funding NASA Television will be unavailable..... In addition, the NASA Television feeds from www(dot)nasa(dot)gov also will be unabailable until further notice. We sincerely regret this inconvenience."

Then out of curiosity, I bring the International Space Station website. Nothing.

So then: Did anyone tell the people in space that the bill hasn't been paid and their phones will not work?

"Hello? This is Luca. Anyone home? Nasa, ISS... hey, is anyone there?"

"We're sorry. The number you've reached is no longer in service."

uh-oh.

Astronaut Tom Marshburn came back in May after a 5-month tour on the ISS. Betcha he's quietly saying, "Glad it ain't me."
