To all my friends and members here,

I was discharged 46 years ago right around this time.  This is one of those years, there have been others, when a flood of memories comes back that I would rather forget.  It makes me "unfit for human consumption" until they abate.  So I just hunker down until I feel like I am able to communicate.

Thanks for understanding,

Doc

Yes, sir, there are times in our past that can rekindle uncomfortable memories. Cold sweats, preoccupation, vivid memories, and long nights.

My suggestion? Run. Do a physical activity that gets your cardio going. And keep at it as a lifestyle.

You'd be amazed at what normal physical exercise can do to flush, filter and dim things we'd rather forget.

Wow! 46 years ago I was barely using the toilet. (Funny how life comes full circle)

We'll be here when you feel better. That's what's great about this group. For now, take care of what you need. Feel better soon.

I have a close friend with 26 years in the military who often feels the same way.  Hang in there, know that we are thankful for what you have done for us and it's people like you that make this a great nation and make me proud to live in it.
