What is the professional or military opinion of the auto folding knife vs the manual. In this case i am looking at the Benchmade Adamas 2750SBKSN Auto Folding knife vs the same knife in manual. How reliable is the mechanism, both opening & locking? Thanks. Price wise $143.00 vs $175.00

i carried an auto-open, or as I date myself a switchblabe. I found it very useful in many situations where I needed it and only one hand was free. I liked the SOG without the serrated blade(never been a fan of those-even the partials). It had (still has) the sharpest point I have ever seen, and comes very sharp. Be ready when you open it, it will almost jump from your hand. I also like the safety, unlike others this one never opened in my pocket when I carried it there.

He did ask a legit question and deserves an answer. Outside of the cost, the auto opening knife has more things that can break and render the knife useless and probably most importantly auto-opening knives or switchblades are illegal in many, if not most communities.I am not even sure if having a CWP would cover the possession of one.
