I just saw a picture of the show COPS with the headline "Show ends 25-year run with FOX", and I knew armageddon was just around the corner.  Then I opened the link...they just moved to the SPIKE network.  Wheeeew, that was a close one...and shame on you MSN!

What's even worse than that is now Lifetime is apparently not renewing America's Most Wanted.....such a shame. I hope another network picks it up. I had the pleasure last year of meeting John Walsh in D.C. What a standup guy

Sounds like the panic attack when NBC cancelled Southland after only 1 season.  I was so distraught.  Luckily, TNT picked it up and just recently finished I think season 4 and still going.

I like the show however, view many mistakes on the show. Mainly giving the miranda warning at the time of arrest. It is is not necessary until they are interviewed. Let them speak all that want on the way to lock up and document. Many show boat it on the show.

The TV show COPS is a lightweight casual viewing PG show that I bet most cops don't watch. It has become an informal training manual for wannabes and water cooler talk.

I have probably viewed a total of less than five hours of that show since its airing.

I am most entertained by academy recruits making comments, like, "I once saw on COPS where..... etc, etc."

It's cheap entertainment for a public that is interested in police work.

An oh, that show called The Academy? Noticed how it kinda just evaporated? Yeah, it temporarily lost it's certification due to unethical practices.

They had unethical practices?  I must have missed those.  Or did people complain that they felt they were being treated wrong by being yelled at all day.

Bump UncleD and Sarge! I haven't watched COPS for at least 20 years. I used to watch it and pick out all the mistakes, poor decisions, and just unsafe behavior that was being displayed by the officers on the show.  Drove me nuts. Had to stop watching.

I like to watch it just to hear "Thats not mine officer!" and to listen to the ones that scream and wine when they get busted.  I actually have not seen it in quite a while since I don't have TV.

What you see on Cops is what not to do.

I don't like the show "COPS" mostly because when I watch it, I get crazy over the things they do wrong. Approaching a girl upon resonable suspicion and grabbing her when she trys walking away? I went nuts...but thats just me.

Another comedy (of errors) leaves FOX, once I realized that COPS was a comedy, i was able to enjoy it.
