This is the day that the Ohio National guard fired on Kent State peace protestors what lead up to that was that they peace protestors were burning destroying and causing havic in the City of Kent Ohio. Alos they were burning down campus buildings, This is not mentioned in all the stories that you  hear. G troop of the 107th Battalion was called to Kent and the Campus to protect the city and campus from these so called peace protestors which they did.

Yesterday my cousin died and the Cleveland Plain Dealer has the Title for his obit as;

Larry Shafer, 67, fired on KSU students in 1970.

lucky for him his hometown paper has an article on his service as a firefighter and safety cordinator and his obi says he  is remembered as a public servant. I am proud of his service and I would have done the same as he did that day and as 2 of my other cousins did and how much do you bet there obits will have that plain dealer sentence that he fired instead of telling of his service and work for his cityu and country.
