Hi I am starting the process of entering the San Diego police academy and I am worried about the fact that I was homeschooled through an online course how can I prove my high school education?

As one officer have stated many times, call the agency and axe.

How's that HOPE and CHANGE working out for you?

What would you do for a Klondike bar?

There should be some sort of paper documentation regardless of how you attended and completed your high school education.

You should have plenty of documentation. Call and axe. I am curious if you were homecoming king?

Ask questions about your homeschooling being part of a larger "Charter School" group. It would be there that you might discovers your "Cuum" file and other supporting documentation of you home school activity.

You might also consider continuing on and obtaining your undergraduate degree. In the overall picture it is a small time of college pursuit that will set you up for success in law enforcement.

I do not, repeat do not know about CA, but most states I am familiar with require state standardized testing for homeschooled individuals.  Successfuly passing this test gives you the equivlant of a H.S. diploma, documentation received from the state.

Same is true for California.  It would seem that the OP might be a little thin skinned.  He got his answer that he must have some sort of documentation available and was told to ask.  I guess he didn't like the humor that was interjected by uncleD.  To the OP...... Do what your were told and while you're at it, get a thicker skin and learn to laugh (even at yourself and at your expense) or you will not last long.

Yup, tough bunch here. Humor is one of the outlets for the stress.

I apologize just I am entering the final days before I start the process and I want to make sure I have everything in order and I dont want to have any last minute surprises. I am very new to everything and want to go int with all my ducks in a row. My questions were probably obvious but it is better to ask than be left with the question. And the girl next door was my prom queen.

Now that's a much better response......

You should have received some sort of documentation similar to a public educatuion high school diploma.  Check with the on-line course and find out if they can send you the equivelant of your grades that show you met the standards and graduation requirements.  You should be able to show transcripts from the on-line school just as you would if you went to a public high school.
