I say No. However, Colorado has become a very Liberal State.

What do you all think?

Life in prison? Not the death penalty? The victims weren't given that choice so why should you be?

No way!

No. Don't know if Colorado has the death penalty, but if it does, he has earned it.

I say yes so long as he never sees the light of day...I'm pro death penalty but why spend any more tax payer money or drag the vics through this again by having a trial...plus all you need is one to go against giving him the death penalty and in this case the defense will play on his mental state or lack thereof....

No! Give him the "William Wallace penalty" from Braveheart.

I say yes, and will explain why. trial will probably cost millions and enrich lawyers + give James Holmes lots of publicity.  Best outcome of trial would be death penalty, but he probably wouldn't be executed before 2035 and have appeals, insanity defense, etc. all costing more money.  If liberal CO  does away with the death penalty ( suspect his offer of guilty plea for life is because they did not do away with the death penalty in last election, but who knows what the future holds in CO) he still ends up with life in prison.  Accepting guilty plea does away with insanity defense as well.  While I prefer the dirt nap, just consider that very unlikely.

After what happened in the Casey Anthony trial, I could see this happening.

Casey Anthony owes her lawyers someing like $600,000 and since she can't pay that much I bet the lawyers figure out some way to stick the taxpayers for her bill.

He deserves a date with a needle in his arm, but I would not be surprised in the coming years if the death penalty is repealed, and whether or not it is retroactive. There was a bill introduced in the state congress this past week to repeal the death penalty, although it was killed.

According to The Denver Post, prosecutors are "highly unlikely" to accept his plea agreement.

The DA said he would release his decision this coming Monday, on April 1.  He said he wanted to talk to the families of the victims before making a decision.

According to AP, the DA has already rejected the offer.

Lethal injection is the sole method of execution in Colorado but has been used only once in many years. I vote give him a main line of battery acid.

A rope would be too fast, maybe a K9 pinch collar on a long leash.

Can't approve the death penalty.  I'm Catholic.

Having said that, couldn't care less what Holmes wants.

Anyway, it's a publicity stunt -

"Prosecutors also said they believed the defense's offer was a "calculated" move for attention.

'The circumstances surrounding the filing of the Notice indicate that it was filed for the intended purpose of generating the predictable pretrial publicity that occurred yesterday,' prosecutors wrote, according to KMGH."

Been wondering if the trial is going to be a 'publicity stunt' for the prosecution, the procuting attorney can say he successfully propsecuted Holmes and use that as a springbord toa political carreer, maybe CO Attorney General.
