I took the national police officer test a couple of weeks back. I didn't do as well as I would have liked. And, wasn't considered to go further with the selection process.  I was wondering what type of study guides would better assist me with passing the exam.  With a focus on math and police report writing. But, with particular attention to types of trick questions.  The last part of the test was testing grammar and punctuation but with a twist in that I was supposed to pick the incorrect spelling or punctuation based on the preceding question.

As I stated I didn't do well. But, I may have another chance to take the test for another department in month.  I'd appreciate any help.

Towards the top of this screen, you'll see a tab marked "Become a Cop". In the drop down menu is a link for "Exam Guides". A few of these guides may be beneficial. Additionally, you may want to check out testing material at your local library.

Most Law Enforcement tests (and Civil Service exams) test your knowledge (Math, English etc), but also contain a lot of common sense and "How would you handle this" type questions.

Good luck.
