Hey Sarge thanks for Baseball Season 2013. As a New England native I am and always will be a Red Sox fan. That said, I follow players as well. I have been a Scutaro fan since he was on the Sox. It was so cool when he got the MVP last fall. I would love to see the Giants and the Red Sox in the world series. I've been both to Fenway and Candlestick. Great baseball.

Scutaro won the NLCS MVP last year. Buster Posey won the overall NL MVP. Scutaro was a pleasure to watch: Solid reliable hitter, got on base regularly, RBI's a-plenty. Tough as nails, too.

Candlestick will be retired this year. The current occupants, the 49ers, will be moving to their new digs about 40 minutes south of Candlestick. Last year we will be season ticket holders at Candlestick.

The Giants moved to AT&T Park (formerly Pac-Bell) in 2000.

I think our Kansas City Royals are first in their division. Getting ready to attend a few games even though football is my sport.

I'm jealous. I would love to be able to vist some, if not all, of our farm teams. Most of our system isn't that close to where I am though. Springfield is almost 4 hours away which had been the closest team until this year. We reaffiliated with Peoria (which had been with the Cubs since 2005) this season, that's 2½ hours away so I may make a couple trips up there this year. On the upside, Wisdom plays in Peoria & so I'd get to see him play. You are right about our farm system though - Molina and Pujols both got their start in Peoria.

Agree with yekko en re to the Cards.Looking good and should be in the thick of things in the end.They have a double"A" team right accross from where I work,the Springfield cardinals,who won the league championship last year.Cards have a fine farm system.

I saw that. I track all of the teams every year and bought a subscription to MLB.tv Premium this year so I could keep better track of everything going on from spring training games to playoff games. I went to a Cards/Royals game at Busch last year, it was a fiasco. Cards won 10-7 but the game took almost 4 hours to get through. It was an interesting game because a triple play was reversed and Matheny argued the overturn until they threw him out all in the top half of the 1st inning. The first inning alone took an hour to get through, LOL.

As for how it is going without Albert, everybody is thrilled to have Craig at 1st and it's always a blast when Craig gets to play OF so that Adams can play 1st. Albert isn't the first tool to say he wanted to make a lifelong career with the Cardinals and then walk away because they wouldn't give him an ungodly amount of money. Ray Lankford did that several years ago, exact same scenario except that he left with an attitude and ill will. He had some very nasty things to say about the Cardinals when just 4 years prior he was singing their praises for giving him a 4 year/16mil contract - it was at that press conference he said he would never play for another team and then 4 years later it turned ugly.

I harbor no ill will towards Pujols. While I don't agree with his choice, he did what he felt he had to do. Greed gets in the way of the bigger picture too many times. His restaurant here (Pujols 5 Westport Grill) was renamed to St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame Bar & Grill shortly after he left. He's not very popular here anymore. In fact, a lot of people have decided to alter their Pujols jerseys instead of tossing them (I sold mine for $20). Here are my favorite alterations:

Yekko,are you fans getting acclimated to doing without Albert? Right before he left he stated he wanted to do his entire career in St.Louis.Guess money speaks pretty loudly though.Can you believe on our side of the state the Royals are leading their division.They haven't done anything since George Brett wa there a million years ago.
