ok so ive wanted to be in law enforcement for the past 5 years. ive done probably 15 ride alongs with multiple agencies.  im 20years old.  im currently getting ready to start college.  I want to be a Florida Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement officer but they currently are not hiring so im gonna go back to school and start on my AA in applied science.  my career choice is I.C.E.  once i have a few years experience with FWC and i Recieve my BA i plan on applying for ICE.   does this sound like a good route? For some reason i find FWC to be very interesting and not just "fish" cops like everyone else says.  ICE is deffinetly what i wanna do in the future.  what are the requirements for ICE? what type of physical, mental and backround test do they do?  I've never tried any illegal drugs and my record is clean besides a few traffic citations

Sounds like you have a good plan started. By all means, get into college in appropriate courses that will help in your career.

As far as requirements for ICE: Go to (www.) ice.gov and look at the bottom of the page. In the field of blue, you will see a heading marked "Careers". Click on the link/s you are interested in.

Best wishes!!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I would recommend getting a little more "life experience" before jumping into a law enforcement career. I've worked with many cops in my career and the ones that got on the job after working and living as an adult as opposed to those who were fresh out of school seemed to have a more level-headed grasp of the nuances of the job.

Go out in the real world. See the good and the bad in it. Experience some of it (just don't get yourself in trouble). Then go for the job.

Keep your eye on myFlorida.com there are a lot of people who are retiring this year. I know a Lt  here in Tallahasse who works at headquarters he told me this last week.

Yes, get some life experience. Put this on ice for a few years.
