So I am filing out my personal history statement and preparing for my background investigation and I have a question pertaining to the child porn question.

First and foremost, no, I have never seen any form of real life underage individuals participating in any kind of sexual acts, nor have I had sexual contact with anyone who is underage. I have however seen some animated drawings of underage individuals engaging in sexual acts on image boards: 4chan, etc.

Basically my question is this; having seen what I have described above, does that constitute having seen child porn? If so, woud this disqualify me? Could this be grounds for seisure of my computer or am I just freaking out a bit?

Fill out the PHS in a manner you feel best reflects your thoughts of what is right and wrong. Everything, and I mean everything, involved in the LE application process is a test. Applications/PHS are the first measure of your honesty and morals. If you feel what you did/observed was wrong, then list it as such. If not, then leave it off. This is totally your decision to make. Just be aware if you are having an internal struggle with that decision, it will come out in the polygraph. Be prepared to explain yourself and then let the chips fall where they may.

I can't believe how much stress the polygraph puts on people. It's enough to drive some people crazy!!! I wish there was another way (not talking about the voice stress test), to qualify applicants.

Before throwing your computer in the ocean, to hide the evidence, be realistic about things. Don't look for child porn and don't produce it. That's what would get your computer searched. Not simply browsing the net and accidentially seeing something.
