I often push back thoughts of my husbands work day. In the past early in our marriage I often worried. I have always walked my husband to the door and hugged him tight and kissed him goodbye. Many times I have listened to news casts with breath being held.

This morning in Port St. Lucie  my husbands department had an officer shot in the leg. He has been released.

This morning in St. Lucie county deputy Sergeant Gary Morales was shot and killed sitting in his car. He never even had the chance to pull his weapon. During the news broadcast this trash that shot him looked smug and unremorsefully at the camera.

I imagine when Gary left for work Holly hugged and kissed him and he in turn kissed his two young daughters. I am so very sad. Rest in peace Gary. Your smile is the thing I will always remember. Goodbye my friend........

In Christian history, we know that in the heavens, God asked "Whom shall I send?" Answering the call, the one who we have come to know as Jesus Christ answered, "Here am I, send me." In a day that started out as any other day and as we all do, Sgt Gary Morales pinned on his badge, kissed his wife and children goodbye and said, "Here am I, send me" and answered the call to serve.  It was key that Sgt Morales was able to kiss his family goodbye, because today he would not come home.

Sgt Morales, May you rest in peace knowing that we have the watch now. May your family, friends and the Port St Lucie Sheriff's Department be comforted knowing that you are now in the Lord's service and keeping watch over all of us and that in the coming day, they will see you again. WE WISH YOU GOD SPEED

Thanks so much for the post Kristine.A special breed of woman is required to be a leos wife.I am aquainted with many on this site.Never do they boast or display scorn or animosityThey present themselves as excellent homemakers, mothers ,wives, mates and most importantly partners.I believe when their time comes, the Lord will have a special place for them for being so patient, compasionate, bold and understanding.I have, unfortunately attended a number of law enforcement funerals in and surroundiung my municipality. The widows carry themselves with dignity and bearing.

I fervently pray for the leo's family who was just slain in Officer and Mrs Sacala's area.An old adage-"Those who wait, also serve."May God grant comfort and peace to all leo's spouses and children....Rev. Dave

Kristine,

My heartfelt condolences to you and your hubby, their department and friends..  I don't even know what to say... all these LODDs and no words can ever ease the pain of loss.
