Don't get over excited. Relax! Breathe. Don't over think their questions. Be honest. Don't be afraid to ask for clarifications. Don't be affraid to admit that you don't know something. Don't be overconfident. Relax!

Don't give them the answers you think they want to hear. Tell them what you'd do.

 Don't over-think the questions

Use common sense

Sell yourself (why should they hire you as opposed to the hundreds of others who applied?)

Get good sleep the night before, dress well (suit and tie), eat before. Know about the Agency you're applying for i.e., Chief's name, number of officers, City population, etc. Be prepared to answer questions about your driving history, credit history, education, your last 3 jobs and why you left them, past drug use, any prior contact with police (positive or negative). And be ready to put yourself into different scenarios such as: You're on patrol stopped at a red light, light turns green but the car in front of you doesn't move. You approach and see it's your best friend from high school and he/she is past out behind the wheel. What do you do?

Good luck!

I  appreciate the helpful comments and advise, however i do not like the fact that some people do a mockery out of my comment, i'm trying to ask for some helpful opinion about something that it is extremely important to me, I am no 19 year old kid. With that said, to whoever gave some helpful advice I am greatly appreciated.

Easy there, tiger. Nobody is "mocking" you, simply adding a bit of humor to their advice. You are going to need to acquire a MUCH thicker skin if you want to have any chance at a LE career. The LEO's here have a wealth of knowledge available for the asking. But we also aren't above cracking a joke or offering tongue in cheek responses either. And we are equal opportunity wise @asses, so we don't discriminate between "19 year old kids" or anybody else.

Take some time to peruse the forums and you'll see two distinct trends- People who ask a legitimate question and are truly seeking assistance receive advice and guidance, usually over and above what they expected. Or someone comes on, asks a question, and gets their knickers in a bind because someone cracked a joke. They don't fare quite as well.

If you run a search of the forums for "oral board advice" you will find a plethora of related threads. Those threads hold some valuable suggestions and are worth your time to take a look at. Be forewarned though, they also contain some sarcasm and humor...

Gotta be a little thicker skinned in this profession.

Have ASP will travel.

Justice is the one thing you should always find, you gotta saddle up your boys you gotta draw a hard line.

When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune and we'll all meet back at the local saloon.

And we'll raise up our glasses against evil forces singing whiskey for my men beer for my horses.
