Posted 4 months ago From what I have read in CWP you have to be active or retired and have a I,D card issued to you with your picture from your agency. Google CWP florida.

Posted 4 months ago I believe it's Dept of Agriculture that handle the application process. You need to get an application from them, get a letter from the Dept that you are in good standing and there is something else, don't remember what it is. Call the Dept of Agriculture or stop by your nearest office, they will tell you what you need. Sounds like you still have to pass state exam, focus on that first. If you don't pass the state exam, you won't have a job!

Posted 4 months ago I may have misunderstood. Are you a police officer or just an academy graduate?

Posted 4 months ago I think he is just a graduate of a self-sponsored academy and thus he does not fall under HR 218. If he gets hired by a department then he wouldn't have to worry about the CCW, CPL or CWP or whatever they call it in Florida. He MIGHT be able to use his records of his marksmanship to bypass the actual shooting. . . .but as we all know, the private citizen has restrictions that the police officer (off duty that is) does not and it would probably do him good to go through the classroom part of it anyway. As you always say though. . . ."Go to the respective agency and ASK".

Posted 4 months ago Yeah well, the mentality of some of the past "questioners" (speaking generically here) that we've seen, I don't want to be the one that pushes them to being an "axe" murderer. . . .

Posted 4 months ago I hope it doesn't cost you in Florida what it does in Michigan. $105 every 5 years for the CWP in Michigan.
