Two teams of Astronomers discovered the largest and furthest reservoir of water ever detected in the universe. The water, equivalent to 140 trillion times all the water in the world’s ocean’s., surrounds a huge, feeding black hole called a Quasar, more then 12 billion light years away. (a light year is about six trillion miles). A Quasar is powered by steadily consuming the surrounding cloud of dust and gas. As it eats, the Quasar spews out huge amount’s of energy. But this Quasar APM 08279-+ 5255 harbors a black hole 20 billion times more massive than the Sun and produces as much energy as a thousand trillion suns. What’s unique is that it’s producing this huge mass of water. Water vapor is an important trace gas and is present even in the early distant universe. Our  Milky Way  has 4000 times less water vapor than in the Quasar, because most of the Milky Way’s water is frozen in ice.  Whats crazy is that measurements of the water vapor suggest that there is enough to feed this Quasar  until it grows to about six time’s it size!

I"m so infactuated with astronomy, it's unbelievable.  Especially with quasars.  Thank you for your post.  I can't wait to read up on this.  You made my day, literally, especially after having a crappy day at work.

My only concern is that no monkeys are harmed.
