Does anyone have any pointers for the promotional process called inbox tray? There are several parts to the process including recieving a policy and conducting roll call training which you have explain to your squad. Any advice would be appreciated.

Have ASP will travel.

Justice is the one thing you should always find, you gotta saddle up your boys you gotta draw a hard line.

When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune and we'll all meet back at the local saloon.

And we'll raise up our glasses against evil forces singing whiskey for my men beer for my horses.

Why not axe an officer who has been thru the process.

Well inbox tray is a scenario based question that has several different parts that you have to prioritize and explain how you would handle the situation.

To what rank would this be a promotion to?

I would but this is the first time our department has used this process which was created by the Missouri Police Chief's Association.

Ahh, in NY the promotions are by test.  Bunch of people take the test which is based on the responsibities of that rank according to the patrol guide.  The people are promoted by score.  This is to the rank of Capt.  Then the promotions become by appointment.  Investigatory tracks (detective rank) are by merit and 18 months in an investigatory unit.  Its cool to learn about what departments do in other parts of the country.  I'm hoping someone with more knowledge chimes in.

I was a member of the Missouri Police Chief's Association years ago. What agency are you a member of? PM me if you do not wish to post.
