Have you ever heard someone say "I lost my song" or something similar?  You may be thinking that's a crazy saying or a crazy thought.  But it is possible.  Do you know where your song comes from?  From joy.  And do you know the difference between joy and happiness?

Happiness comes from your environment.  Things make you happy. People make you happy.  Money may make you happy.  But joy...Joy comes from God.  It is way down deep in your soul.  Joy is there when happines is not.  Joy is being able to say "Hey, life stinks right now but I have God."  Joy and peace cohabitate.  Joy is being able to say "I don't know what tomorrow holds but I know Who is already there.  I can't see the light of day but I have the Light of the world dwelling within me.  I can't feel the ground beneath me, but I know Who holds me in His hands."  Joy is being able to survive the storm, waves and all, and smiling through it.  The Joy of the Lord is your strength. Psalm 28:7

So what does that have to do with a song???  We are told to sing a new song to the Lord in Psalm and Isaiah, as well as to make a joyful noise to the Lord in Psalm.  Have you ever tried to keep a song in your heart or mind without having joy?  Pretty much impossible.  When you are at peace and have joy, you will have a song in your heart and/or mind.

So - that brings me to the main point.

If you don't have a song, if you don't have peace, you are probably also without joy.  All of this also means you have started trying to handle things on your own, you're worrying - you have stopped trusting Him.

I lost my song.  I hated life.  I was exhausted by looking for where to go and what to do.  I tried to control my life. It's tiring - it really is.  But somewhere along the way you figure out something - it's not worth it.  The control is not worth the stress and exhaustion.  At some point you realize that no matter how long you have to wait or how far you have to go, God's will for your life is so much better than you will ever be able to accomplish on your own.

So is it hopeless?  How do you find your joy?  Where do you find peace?  In Him.  Read His Word.  Pray - continually.  The first place I would start - the Book of Psalms.  Next time, we'll talk about some things you can do to rekindle your joy and find your song.

Hang in there sis.  I'm preparing the next one that will help us all with just that!  But until I get it finished - I'm praying for you!

I am going to attempt the bold step of trying to respond to the beauty of what my friend Whitetm has given us.Wouldn't it be grand ,beyond belief, if our world leaders had this same attitude?Joy is precisely how she explains it to be.Although I was ordained some fifteen years ago I ,from time to time fall off my Christian horse(lose my song).Fortunately my heavenly mentor (Creator) is there to boost me up again ,fully realizing that I am imperfect. Many times I am directed to seek out Ephesians or First Corinthians.

One can find God in many things.I see his spirit in my spouse and my children,as I know he made them.I also see Whitetm as the Lord's gift to us..

Thank you for your kind words.  I am truly humbled and not worthy of them.  This group has been a God-send for me and it has been my honor to be part of it.  I too am certainly glad God is so patient with me in my humanity.  I fail Him daily but He always bestows grace and mercy upon me and gently pulls me back into His presence.

PS Dave - Thank you for making the "bold attempt." My words were hardly what I consider beatiful.  As always I welcome people to add to what I've said because simply put - "I am but a worm."  I never get it all right and sometimes even get it all wrong.  I need and want the people around me to coreect me when I'm wrong and go deeper with what I've said.  That is how we learn.  When you add verses that you relate to our discussion, it gives me more to study, which teaches me more.  So - Thank you!
