Posted 4 months ago Alright PL family. I had my pre-op appointment today and now have a time for my surgery. I need to be there for prepping and what not at 0645 PST on Jan 30th. I should be put under and having operation started around 0730. Please Please Please keep the prayers comming and thank you to all the posts, PMs and daily check ins via text/phone calls. It has been a great help for me as I continue to battle with pain, anxiety and depretion. a shout out to BigNTS who has been tremendous help as he has been threw the same surgeries as I have been and up comming. The surgion today explained that this surgery will be much more invasive then the last and there may be a need to cut threw two tendons (for my pointer and middle finger) to get to the cyst to remove it. Also the MRI showed that it is attached to the inside of my radial bone so he will need to shave that off and if it is deep enough he may need to fracture my bone to remove everything that is causing me pain. SO let us pray that God will guide the surgons hands and that this will not be needed so that my recovery time will not be extended any longer then it already is. As many of you know i was a Military Police officer in the Marines and it has been a long time dream of mine to be a Civ LEO. As you can imagine this has put a stop to placing applications as well as any physical training i was doing before this..most of you know I used to run twice a day and lifted weights three times a day as well as did weekly humps (hikes with heavy military like packs). so anywho theres my update....I will be on here after my surgery but please forgive me for short replies in forums or PMs as I will only be able to use my left hand..Please look to member BigNTS for any updates on the 30th and for a while after as he will be my "voice" (hands) here so to speak. Thank you again everyone! |

| Posted 4 months ago Good Luck Tank, God bless and speedy recovery. Keep us posted. Have ASP will travel. Justice is the one thing you should always find, you gotta saddle up your boys you gotta draw a hard line. When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune and we'll all meet back at the local saloon. And we'll raise up our glasses against evil forces singing whiskey for my men beer for my horses. |

| Posted 4 months ago Tank, scarey anything involving the hands that's for sure. But keep in mind surgeons do this kind of thing all the time. A word like 'invasive' carries a lot of weight with a Marine, I am sure. But your team is simply advising you of the extent so you can be realistic about your recovery time. Probably because you are such a go-getter! Anyway, regardless of what is required to put you on the path to total recovery, we are right behind you. All the way! PS Don't forget to arrange to be totally pampered after your surgery!!! |

| Posted 4 months ago Thanks for the update Nicole.Knew you would enjoy the ride along.I'm confident everything will go well Wednesday, still praying. We're all backing you.....Dave |

as many here know I am very close to many of the officers at EPD..and the Sgt I am riding with has watched and seen me grow from a very bad teen into a military disaplined individual. Also I didn't have a place to go home to when i came back to eugene when ever i took leave from the Marines. This Sgt and his family opened the door to there home for me each time giving me a place to lay my head and food to eat. And he has always been a good mentor to me.
. Had a great time with my Sgt freind and catching up with most of the other officers at the department. Some of whom I haven't seen since they had a LOD that I took emergancy leave for. So anyway just a short update. Tomorrow I will be visiting with the Sgts oldest who is a high school friend of mine. Then surgery on wend at 0630. As I've said before if I am not able to update ya'll myself please look to member BigNTS. Thanks Gang! as always..Stay Frosty!
