Good afternoon everyone, I did an introduction a few years ago, but since I have been gone for so long, I'm starting over fresh. My name is Zane, and I created a PL account a few years ago during my first enlistment (Navy), since then, I re-enlisted and PCSd to DC. Since moving here I have been consumed with work and have been away from PL. I am facing that tough decision once again on re-enlisting or separating. My life long dream is to be a Police Officer and am really pushing to make that dream a reality. I love the Navy and the miltary but I think it is my time to leave. I'm still talking to my fiance before we make a definite decision, but I am about 2 years away from separation and want to start looking my new career now. Thank you again for reading this post I look forward to talking more with you all in the future! |

Have ASP will travel. Justice is the one thing you should always find, you gotta saddle up your boys you gotta draw a hard line. When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune and we'll all meet back at the local saloon. And we'll raise up our glasses against evil forces singing whiskey for my men beer for my horses. |

| Posted 4 months ago Welcome back to the Link, Zane! Hello from Ohio!! While you're contemplating leaving the Military, let me throw out another suggestion: Not knowing how much time you have invested in the Armed Forces, if you elect to leave Active Duty to pursue a civilian career, consider going into the Reserves. Keep your Military time rolling. It's the best part-time job in the world! There are several members of PL that have and are serving in the reserves in one form or another, including yours truly. 10 years Active and 10 years in the National Guard. I retired 14 1/2 years ago, and I'm 20 years into my second career. It's just a thought. Best wishes in your decision! Thank You for your Service!! |

| Posted 3 months ago Welcome back to the States! I know the feeling, seeing as I am in the EXACT same place right now. Well, almost.. Active Duty Army stationed in Germany, and I have about 2 years left before I can seperate and head back to the midwest in hopes of becoming a Michigan State Trooper. Seems like more often than not, LOTS of people (enlisted and officer) seem to be jumping ship lately if they have less then 10 years in the military. I for one can say that the military has made me the man that I am today, and I would be much worse off if I had not joined the service. On the other side, I am very excited about leaving the military and starting a law enforcement career; the ability to stay in one area, raise a family, and still have a career where I can help people everyday. Hope it all goes well. -Erik, from Germany. |
