Posted 4 months ago Is it possible to change someone's probation terms? If a probation term includes no contact with a specific person, but that person contacts me and wants to communicate, can that term be removed? |

Like UncleDennis said, check with your PO. That's the only person that can give you a definitive answer. In lieu of that, I'm inclined to say "No, its a violation of your Probation - regardless of who intitiates the communication". In the meantime, avoid contact with that person. 01-18-13 |

| Posted 4 months ago Don't know about probation, but in the no contact order from DV (domestic violence) cases, sonetimes the party wit the order of protection will call the other party over, then when they get mad or tired of them, they call the police and complain about a violation of protection, so I would proceed with cauction and by all means contact your PO first. |

| Posted 4 months ago Have your attorney approach the Judge about amending the rule. Also, you need to advise your PO that the person has contacted you. Make sure to document times called and make sure you aren't calling them. Oh, and yes, I'm a probation/parole officer. PL's Dedicated Vetting Agent |

| Posted 4 months ago I wouldn't even ask for the terms to be changed. I would stay away from the person, refrain from contacting them, and get a police report every time they contacted me. I would also ask for an OOP against the person contacting me. Cut your losses and walk away. Have ASP will travel. Justice is the one thing you should always find, you gotta saddle up your boys you gotta draw a hard line. When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune and we'll all meet back at the local saloon. And we'll raise up our glasses against evil forces singing whiskey for my men beer for my horses. |

This is excellent advice, however, they usually don't listen. That is why I tell them to have their Attorney contact the Judge and document ! I can't tell you how many times some woman would contact the case TRYING to set them up to go to jail. !!!
