Hello, my name is Jerome Patterson I will be turning 22 Jan,10th I plan on joining the air force for an security force specialist career. in about 4 years I want to move into law enforcement as a state trooper. That would make me about 26 or 27 when i would be starting that career, Would that age be ok joining the police force, I feel like I would be a little old to just be joining the police force. Any advice or tips?

Welcome aboard.  Definately wont be to old for any department.

Have ASP will travel.

Justice is the one thing you should always find, you gotta saddle up your boys you gotta draw a hard line.

When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune and we'll all meet back at the local saloon.

And we'll raise up our glasses against evil forces singing whiskey for my men beer for my horses.

Welcome to Police, Jerome. Hello from Ohio.

Applicants in their late 20's to early 30's with Military backgrounds are ideal, in my opinion. They already have matured and have experience in a chain of command type organization.

Keep your nose clean, learn all you can, see the world.

Best wishes.

Welcome to PoliceLink from suburban Philadelpia. I started my career at 30; a little maturity under the belt couple with military experience will be an added benefit as you pursue your career. Best of luck in your endeavors.
