After being here over five years and working through some odd technical things, here are two suggestions to make your online experience a little smoother. (Dang, sounds like a sale pitch: "...your online experience.")

1. Date your posts like I have done at the beginning of this topic. It helps subsequent posts and other PL folks know the dateline of the topic or discussion. In or about 2007, there used to be an accurate and distinct programmed timer on the site. That timer has since been replaced with days, weeks, months, years. BUT, even that protocol is not totally accurate.

2. If you are having a opposing discussion with someone on the forums or articles, use the QUOTE feature. It will help memorialize the person with whom you are talking. In the article area, you'll have to type out the username. Making sure to use the persons account username helps the Moderators track down people who are not good for site health.
