Posted 5 months ago I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Skip. I am 38 and will be starting the academy in Central Florida this coming January. I am very excited to take the first steps in a life long dream of becoming an LEO. Though I may be behind the curve as far as age. I am hoping that will be a pro and not a con as far as the hiring process. I also wanted to say thank you for this site and the information herein, as well as the support everyone on here graciously gives. |

| Posted 5 months ago Skip, welcome from suburban Philadelphia. Before I retired, I hired an officer who was 40. He was one of the best officers I ever hired and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Good luck as you pursue your dream. |

| Posted 4 months ago I am curious if you are attending on your dime or if an agency is sending you? Relax and take a deep breath. I have known recruits age 50 and older attending the academy. Keep your ego in check. |
