Posted 6 months ago In Alaska it is legal to carry a concealed weapon without a permit. Obviously there are still the same Federal limitations; ie... convicted felons etc (tho many get a pass for subsistance reasons). What are the specifics in your state? As a civilian, my travel to and possible relocation to any other state would be affected by those laws. YaYa SweetAsAVelociraptor

| Posted 6 months ago Try Google. I am not familiar with the gun laws in my state. My only concern is I can carry anywhere even the Golden Corral restaurant. |

Further, Oklahoma recognizes reciprocity. So other states laws apply to those from that state with proper ID. So if you have a permit from FL and are traveling in OK your right to carry is recognized. And being from AZ or AK where permits are not required you can carry concealed or open in OK as long as you have your ID from that state and have met the standards - no felonies, etc.

| Posted 6 months ago Excellent info thanks! I think a lot of folks will be leaving Alaska in the next decade. Economy troubles always have a delay before they get to Alaska. I still can't believe there are places in the lower 48 where you can buy a house for under 50 grand! YaYa SweetAsAVelociraptor

| Posted 6 months ago In SC: as long as you're not prohibited by Federal or State law (convicted felon) or deemed unfit (by Probate judge, for example,) a non-LEO can take a concealed weapon class - held all the time at most gun ranges by certified instructors - and apply for a Concealed Weapon Permit from the state, to carry concealed on your person. (Though carry is still restricted in certain locations - mainly, government buildings and sensitive facilities/businesses.) However, you do NOT have to have a CWP just to transport a loaded handgun in your vehicle, so long as you aren't prohibited (as aforementioned) and you have the weapon(s) stored in a closed compartment (console/glovebox) of the vehicle...doesn't have to be locked. Shotguns and rifles can be on openly transported on racks or on the seats, so long as they're in view during LE contact. If you have a CWP and are carrying a sidearm when you are stopped, you are required by state law to identify that fact and hand over the valid CWP with your license when contacted/requested by a LEO. |

| Posted 6 months ago I am curious if a Google seach was of assistance. I recall the old days even as a police officer stopping at the state line and securing my weapon in the trunk of my ride. Don't over think this. |

| Posted 6 months ago In Montana, open carry is legal. For non-leo you need to get a concealed weapons permit from the Sheriff's Office. Most counties require some sort of course with the weapon before issuing the license. |

| Posted 6 months ago DonnaLynn gave you a great website.. look at the reciprocity States.. In NC you can OPEN carry without a permit, however if you conceal that weapon, you need a permit from the Sheriff's Office. Only in the state of Illinois |

| Posted 6 months ago In MO you need to go through a conceal carry class but you are allowed to carry anywhere that a sign isn't posted eg; school, bank, federal office, state office, and someone told me walmart but I am not sure on that one. The class is a 8 hour long class and its mostly book learning with a live fire session at the end. You are given a 22 revolver and a 22 semi auto ruger and you have to hit the target at 7 yards 15/20 times I think it is. They are also looking for gun safety like pointing it in a safe direction when reloading and finger off the trigger. They make you fire 30 practice rounds before you qualify. No convicted felons, anyone with a restraining order against their person, anyone who has been deemed mentally incompetent
There are only 11 US states that do not accept Missouri Conceal Carry license.
And obviously nobody is allowed to conceal carry in Illinois |

| Posted 6 months ago A word to the wise.Laws covering this subject vary in all the states and sometimes vary dramatically. This includes even neighboring states. In the past twenty one years I have resided in three states and was an officer and Deputy in two of these states. It is prudent to be cognizant of these laws as we,as officers are also subject to said laws and yes,I have seen where officers have been arrested ,unfortunately, for not being aware of this.In summation, know where you are and what is required. |
