Posted 6 months ago I am sharing with you a PM, I shared with a trusted and beloved friend here on PL. .Today, is my actual birthday! I am actually, having a great day. I received cards, phone calls and cash but the most valued gift I received today was from my 15 year old daughter who is struggling with the rigors of youth as we all have. She acknowledged her appreciation for my tough love for her! I will treasure her letter to me for life! I asked her to repeat her letter to me to share with you! The following was typed by her to share with you: Dear, Daddy Your my best friend worse enemy your everything in a dad I can ask for. You love me unconditionally even when I'm wrong or right. You always say when I grow up. I will thank you for everything but I thank you now your there when I need you and even when I want you to go away. you worry about boys but I want you to know "NO!" boy can ever take your place or change the fact that I'm your little girl. I know that when you tell me no I cant go somewhere its for my best interest. I may be mad that I cant go but at least I am safe. daddy your raising a smart young women and its al l because of the great man that you are I love you old man and happy birthday love , Sabrina Many times, we don't think what we do or say matters! Take care my friend and be safe out there! | Posted 6 months ago Awesome! It's a struggle to raise a teenager. You often wonder if you've gotten it right (I know; I have a 16 year old daughter). This is sweet confirmation that you have. Congratulations on raising one astute young lady. |
