Posted 5 months ago Great news, congrats... I remember waiting for similar news10 years ago. I got off work and ran home to change real quick before heading out to celebrate Christmas Eve with family. There in my mailbox was the much anticipated letter from the "Personel Department" I drove an hour to my folks house without opening the letter...not sure if it would change the evening for the better or worse. Finally opened it while waiting for some to come to the door to let me in... I had passed my exams, and was being promoted. You are one step closer...but not yet there. Stay frosty, keep yourself in check. Congrats!

Posted 5 months ago you will get it, in this job there are a lot of ppl that are applying for the job, and somtimes it may not even be you, they just may have gotten someone that has already gone to the acadmey and that can save any agency money and today that is a big deal, i think that you have been all of the right things and you have been setting your self up to get the job, you do have one thing that many pl dont and that is abilty to ask for help, that will go along way, and there are alot of ppl on this sight that have alot of experence. i am in the same boat as you, it is hard to get a job in this feild, however that will make it just that much better when you do get that call. I wish you the best of luck and keep your head up. “In honor, there is hope”

Posted 5 months ago A lot of good advice and opinions passed out here, Mandy. Best of luck with your interview. If, for whatever reason it doesn't work out, reach out: I spent 9 years as a municipal police officer and then went to the Feds (FBI in my case) and spent 24 years there before retiring in 2009. No reason to be afraid of applying-- as with jobs at the municipal and state level, the competition is fierce, but we're always looking for the brightest, most-competitive folks. I assume you have your US citizenship, as that's a requirement for employment with the federal government. Regardless, I wish you the best--I loved my time in a patrol unit, as much as my time with the Bureau....

Posted 4 months ago Thank you everyone. Sorry that I haven't been on in a while. Over the holidays I worked 7 days a week and about 16 hours a day. I just got my letter on Friday saying that I ranked 18. All I'm hoping for now is that they are hiring for more than one position. Fingers crossed. :)

Posted 4 months ago You can rest assured they will be hiring more than one or they would not have initiated the testing procedures as it would be cost prohibative.I feel as though, with your past accomploishments you will be ranked higher as you go from phase to phase.Much good fortune.
